2015 Cahiers Pinot Noir

2015 Cahiers Pinot Noir

A dense berry and spice profile amplified by broad tannins, vibrant acidity, and a bold & uplifting finish.

A single clone 115 blend of 3 sites, Brooks, Crannell, and Muska, in an effort to make a complete expression of 115, one of our winemaker’s favorite stand-alone clones.

Cahiers (KY-YAY) is French for Notebooks or Journals in rememberance and honor of Jimi Brooks who loved to read and write. Pascal had found his father’s journals after he passed and they allowed him to connect with his father through each journal entry.

We bottled 600 cases in June of 2017 in honor of Pascal’s 21st birthday.

Chocolate & pinot braised short ribs, sauteed garlic kale and and a glass of Cahiers would make this the perfect pairing.

Brooks has it all — Great story, great people, great wines.

Vintage Notes

A warm winter yielded bud break three weeks earlier than normal and lead into bloom under exceptional weather conditions. A dry and hot summer was broken up by rain in late August, and favorably cooled down in September in time to result in one of the earliest harvests on record. The grapes at harvest were extraordinary in quantity and quality, offering ripeness, balance, and expressive flavor.
