As a Brooks Wine Club Member, you may know that we strive to provide you with unique and exceptional experiences. With that mission in mind, we are changing the format of our Annual Fall Club Party.
We invite you to attend BROOKS UNIVERSITY at Linfield College on Sunday, Sept. 13th, from 1-4pm. There is no cost for Wine Club Members.
Why Linfield? It's a beautiful and inspiring collegiate setting, but more importantly, Jimi graduated from Linfield in 1985, and we feel his spirit will be strong as we learn, break bread, and revel in his legacy.
The first half of the party will consist of a seated educational tasting led by our winemaker, Chris Williams and wine writing award winning pioneer, Alder Yarrow, who just debuted his beautiful new coffee table book, "The Essence of Wine". Alder is the founder of the wine blog Vinography (www.vinography.com) and a columnist for Jancis Robinson.com. It is a great honor to have him!
Forty-six of the most common flavors and aromas found in wine are detailed in "The Essence of Wine". At the party, the tasting will feature 9 Brooks wines, selected by Alder, who will guide you through sensory evaluation to understand which essences are captured in our wines. After, Alder will interview Chris in what's sure to be an entertaining back-and-forth.
All of that education is sure to build up your appetite. Not to worry. We'll be serving up paella from Crown Paella as you mingle, sip wine, and meet Alder for a book signing.
Speaking of Alder's book, there will NOT be any for sale at the event itself, so we encourage you to pre-order (see the RSVP form). This is the only way to ensure a copy.
The book is $75, but we are paying $35 toward each book, so the cost for our Club Members is $40!
Those who pre-order will meet Alder for a book signing, and will also receive a special gift from Alder. And think ahead for the holidays as this book makes a wonderful present for your wine-loving family and friends and won't be available at this price after the party.
But don't take my word for it. Food & Wine Magazine called it, "Astoundingly beautiful," and The New York Times had this to say, "...winsome descriptions, gorgeous photographs and suggestions of wines in which those characteristics might be found. Great fun."
CLICK HERE to RSVP and to Reserve Your Copies of the book.
